Austria:

The Cardijn Association grew out of 2 Austrian associations:

The ‘Verein zur Förderung der ArbeitnehmerInnenbildung’, the supporting association of the Bildungshaus Betriebsseminar until 2010, and the ‘Joseph Kardinal Cardijn Bildungs- und Unterstützungsverein’.

It has its roots in the strong presence of employee and company chaplaincies in Upper Austria, as well as their international and ecumenical commitment to social and economic issues.

International:

The Cardijn Association grew out of the experience of two earlier European networks: the European Contact Group (ECG) and the Work and Economy Network in European Churches (WEN). The new association was founded in line with these networks.
